Dubai World Islands

Dubai World Islands

The Dubai World Islands are a collection of man-made islands, in the shape of the continents of the world, located 4 km off the shore of Jumeirah in Dubai. These islands are made up of sand dredged from the shallow waters in and around Dubai, and are one of the many artificial islands that are being developed in Dubai. The entire project of creating these islands is the brainchild of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai.

The Dubai World Islands will be made up of 300 small artificial islands that would be divided into four categories consisting of private homes, estate homes, dream resorts, and community islands. The collection of man-made islands, which will be located in the Arabian Gulf, not very far from the Palm Jumeirah, will be surrounded by a breakwater. The proposed means of transportation between the islands will be by boat or by air.

Each island in the Dubai World Islands will measure between 250,000 and 900,000 square feet, with 50 to 100 meters of water between each island. It is proposed to sell each island to selected private developers and the base price could be anywhere in the range of US$ 7 million onwards. For people who do not want to own the whole island, they can stay at on the Thailand Island at Jasmine Gardens which is a 5 star residential resort. Or, you can think of the New Zealand and Australian Islands which offer you a choice of hotels, Water homes, Canal homes, and sea view apartments.
