Palm Deira

Palm Deira

The Palm Deira is one of the Dubai islands of a trilogy of the Palm Islands. The Palm Islands are artificial islands located in Dubai on which major commercial and residential constructions are proposed to be constructed. The other two islands which constitute the Palm Islands are the Palm Jumeirah and the Palm Jebel Ali. Each of the islands is in the shape of a palm tree with all the parts and these islands are expected to have a number of residential, leisure, and entertainment centers. The proposed Palm Deira Island, which will have dimensions of 12.5 km by 7.5 km, will be located near Deira, an area of Dubai.
The Palm Deira will be the largest of the three islands and like the other two islands will have the shape of a palm tree having a trunk and a crown with fronds. It is proposed to have a water breaker in the form of a crescent.

The Palm Islands are really unique – the first of its kind in the world and will have residential property, shopping malls, marinas, sports facilities, and clubs. The residential area will be located on the fronds of the Palm Deira and will have 8,000 two-storey houses in three different styles – Premier Villas, Grand Villas, and Vista Town Homes. The Palm Deira will consist of 24 islets including the main island, and it is estimated that this island will have about 200,000 residents.
It is planned to develop a public transportation system that would include extending the Dubai Metro, and also have tram and water networks. The Palm Deira is expected to have 9 districts:
Deira Island, Palm Crown, Palm Fronds, Palm Crescent, Palm Trunk, North Island, South Island, Central Island, and Al Mamzar Island. These man-made islands are a must visit Dubai attractions.
